Cleaning used baby items? so recently i bought some items off of a lady and they are in really good shape, but some of the items have dirt stains on them, from being in storage in her shed. for example. the ring around the playyard is completly dirt stained. idk wut to use to get these stains out. any suggestions? Is it rude to register for baby items? I am pregnant with my second child my son is 10 and I never planned on any more children after him , Needless to say I have no baby items. I have received a good number of hand me downs and I am grateful and will use them. There& 039 s just some things you want new and my husband and myself purchased some things ourselves. I have several friends and relatives who want to get things for the baby and two friends who are throwing me a baby shower, so I created a registry that can be accessed online or in the store. A friend of mine who is on her third child in 4 years told me I was rude for doing so because baby showers and gifts are about what others want to give you not about what you want. And that I was just being selfish and greedy for having a registry. Am I in the wrong? Does she know more about this than me since she has done it more recently? I just wanted to give people an idea of what we need and what we already had. What do you think about handmade baby items? I have started a store on Etsy and I started with a few items but I intend to make more. I don& 039 t want to undercut how much I put into things, but I want things to be cute, yet affordable. So what do you think? I will also be adding baby bottle sippy cup wraps as well. So is my price reasonable? What kind of baby things would you look for on a site like this? This girl I befriended had just moved to Washington State with her husband from Arkansas. I having done that once moving to somewhere I know no one " knew what it felt like to feel alone. Well I gave her my number about 4 months ago , which was right when she moved here. Two months later she calls asking to hang out and at first few times we " hung out" she was all cool and what not. She has a ten month old and I have a 17 month old so I thought she and I would make good friends. Well one day she calls and says she has been beaten and her husband cheats on her. SHe asks me to come get her son. I do , apprehensively, but still I do.I later have a conversation with her explaining that in her situation its probably best she and her 10 month old go back to Arkansas. SHE REFUSES AND REFUSES. She continues to be cheated on and beten for the last 4 weeks.Well lasteek she says " My parents are coming next friday and we will be leaving Sunday for Arkansas, I will divorce Nick" yada yada yadaI said " great" truthfully I was fed up wit her issues , she was practically a stranger to me.Well My mother in law and I were out with my son yesterday and Gabby the girl calls to say she wants to stop by to say goodbye.I said I wouldnt be home but I widh her and her son all the best.And you would not believe what I came home to A walker, A swing, A rocker and a bouncer. Two HUGE boxes of clothes and a play mat. ANd No joke all of it was covered in vomit, food. feces and the like. Just recently she asked if I knew who to donate it to and I gave her a list of local places.She effing left it on my porch.It was sooo putrid I had to use gloves to touch it and I vomited twice.I called several donation places and they all said they dont take baby items because they could be recall risks She dumped the crap on me What would you do? I shouldnt have to pack the diseased stuff up and dump it, so Ive taken it all apart and sprayed it down. But I am irate Should I tell her anything?I cant believe her son played in that putrid toddler toy Hell SHould I tell her to lose my number? She keeps calling and texting. Mind you, she is 19 , I am 25 .. so to me she seems ridiculous. Her 10 month old is also 14 lbs and wears 6 months size clothes. SHe said " he has always been small and doesnt eat much" When I watched him he ate and ate and ATE I cleaned it so I could donate it to a mom or dad in need. I would bever give poop covered things to anyone. Do WIC centers take free baby items for distribution to needy parents? I was given a bunch of stuff to try and sell at a garage sale, and have some good quality baby items left over clothes, a few new bottles and some sort of educational bouncer seat . I really don& 039 t want to simply give it to just anyone on Craig& 039 s list, and there are no nearby pregnancy centers that are still operating. Obviously people who use WIC services are lower income families, so do the WIC offices accept used baby items for the needy parents?Thanks for the website, Carrie Personal MUST HAVE baby items....? OK so im 24 weeks pregnant and im having a girl but i want to start shopping and getting things with each paycheck so im not shelling all the money out at once when she comes lol. So for all you mommies, what was the one item or items that were a must have when you had your baby? Registering for baby items at more than 1 place? I& 039 ve registered at Babys R Us, Target, and Wal Mart. We don& 039 t have a Babys R Us in town, but we do have a Toys R Us has only a handful of my registered items and the closest Babys R Us is 45 minutes away. However, alot of my family lives in places that have Babys R Us, which is why I registered there. All of my big stuff carseats, high chair, pack n play, bouncy seat, etc. is at Babys R Us. The Target and Wal Mart here don& 039 t have a selection of those things. However, there are a couple of things that I might register for at both places. Is that a bad idea? I& 039 ve heard that Target is a nightmare to deal with they were when I had my wedding registry there because they have such strict return policies. In other words, I hate registering for the same items at different places and not being able to return them. Should I try and only register for certain items at 1 place? Were can I get free baby clothes? or sample baby items? My sister is having a baby soon and we have not much money but anyway, I would like to help her. What types of new or gently used baby items can be donated? I have a friend who is pregnant and very poor, with no family support.I want to help by buying some things, and people are giving things to me that they want to donate. I got a box of clothes from a lady today, a guy said he will donate a high chair, and a stroller, and more are giving also. I work at an ambulance corp and they told me to put up a sign asking for gently used donations to be dropped off there.What items can be put on the sign, that I can ask for?
